Inspired by ancient Tibetan ritual and the untouched beauty of the highlands, this wedding experience unfolds on a secluded island in the heart of an alpine lake, hidden deep within Shangri-La — a culturally Tibetan region in the mountains of Yunnan, Southwest China.
Arrive by wooden boat, as every flower, ribbon, and sacred detail is carefully ferried across the still waters. Prepare for your ceremony inside a lakeside cabin, where the scent of fresh buckwheat pancakes fills the morning air.
Your officiant — a Tibetan elder — recites your vows in chant-like English, his voice echoing through the valley as yak bells ring out across the lake. Prayer flags flutter. The clouds shift. And time seems to stand still.
